Clinical Research Programs

The UW Stone Program conducts numerous clinical research programs. Studies include new nonsurgical stone treatment techniques, randomized trials of ESWL vs. endoscopic surgery, and evaluations of new instruments for ureteroscopy and percutaneous stone removal. Some studies allow reimbursement for patients’ travel and x-ray imaging expenses.
