Excellence in minimally invasive urology, in particular laparoscopic urology, has been a hallmark of UW Urology since 1995. Laparoscopy is a form of minimally invasive surgery, where standard, open, “large” incision surgery is replaced with “keyhole” incision surgery.
The goal of the University of Wisconsin Pediatric Urology Program (UWPUP) is to provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and treatment of complex genitourinary problems in children.
The University of Wisconsin Stone Program (UWSP) provides patients and physicians in Wisconsin and surrounding states with a comprehensive resource for treating all aspects of kidney stone disease.
The UW Department of Urology provides comprehensive care for all patients with prostate, kidney, bladder, testis, penile and other genitourinary tract cancers. Our urologic oncologists specialize in minimally invasive surgical procedures.
The Urologic Cancer team also manages a number of active clinical trials aimed at developing new therapies for genitourinary cancers.
