Welcome to the home page for the University of Wisconsin Department of Urology in Madison, Wisconsin. Urology at the University of Wisconsin is a full-service, state-of-the-art program serving the people of Wisconsin and surrounding states. Our Department consistently ranks in the “Best Hospitals: Urology,” based on the annual US News and World Report surveys, and is internationally recognized in clinical, research, and academic circles.

Our Department offers center-oriented specialty treatments and consultations in urologic cancers, stone disease, pediatric urology, urinary tract infections, voiding dysfunction and infertility at our UW Hospital and Clinics site. Each of our University-based urologists is subspecialty trained and focused in a specific domain in urology. At our One South Park clinic, our urologists offer full-service urologic care in the general urology setting. Unique to this site are the Men's Sexual Health initiative and the laser prostatectomy program.

A large clinical research staff along with research fellows, residents and research scientists support numerous clinical trials, research programs and the latest minimally and noninvasive treatments for most urologic disorders. Our affiliation with the UW School of Medicine and Public Health, UW Hospital and Medical Foundation assures you of the latest in all medical and surgical technology.
Our Department pioneered several techniques in urologic laparoscopy, and we have been performing urologic laparoscopic procedures since 1996. We are a certified subspecialty training site for endourology, laparoscopy/robotics and shock wave lithotripsy. We have a robust robotic surgery program, including prostatectomy, pyeloplasty, and cystectomy.

Annually, we perform thousands of urologic procedures and carry out over 10,000 urology patient visits between our UW Hospital and One South Park locations. Despite this, I assure you that our primary goal is to provide the best possible urologic care for each individual who comes to see us in Madison.
