Sara Best, MD receives funding as site Principal Investigator for a Veterans Affairs collaborative study

Sara L. Best, MD has received funding as the site Principal Investigator (PI) for a Veterans Affairs (VA) collaborative study: A multi-modal, physician-centered intervention to improve guideline-concordant prostate cancer imaging. Dr. Danil V. Makarov MD, MHS of the VA’s New York Harbor Health Care System received a merit award to fund this study and is the lead PI. The William S. Middleton Memorial Veteran’s Hospital in Madison, WI is one of 10 VA medical centers across the country participating in this trial. Dr. Kyle A. Richards MD, FACS, Chief of Urology at William S. Middleton Memorial, says, "This is an exciting collaboration and partnership amongst VA investigators around the United States. This trial has the potential to improve the quality of care for men newly diagnosed with prostate cancer while reducing unnecessary costs to the health system."
